Summary[]

More additions to the team arrive but some are not as quick to believe their new roles as Cronus begins his plan to stop them.

Plot[]

At a dam, an elderly worker notices that something is not right and notices the hands on the clock stop moving. He goes to inspect what's going on when he runs into Cronus and Typhus.

At New Olympia, Jay and Atlanta are watching new arrival Archie complete the obstacle course with impressive skill. Although he completes the course, Ares states that his results are not as impressive as those of his ancestor Achilles. Archie claims to not believe he is related to the famed warrior but shows reconsideration when Ares points out how Achilles was also led by anger and mistrust which eventually led to his downfall. Ares presents Archie with a Hephaestus Whip that is made of the thinnest metal ever forged but is powerful enough to cut through nearly any material.

In the suburbs, Herry is visiting his grandmother who gushes about how big he's gotten but also asks him to perform a few tasks.

Back at the school, Jay and Atlanta catch Archie as he's trying to leave since he refuses to believe he's related to Achilles or that anything going on is due to Greek mythology being real. Just after he leaves, Hera brings Jay and Atlanta to meet Theresa and Odie who are descendants of Theseus and Odysseus and are being mentored by Persephone and Hermes.

Jay and Atlanta take the two to the dorm where they hear of how the two came to New Olympia. Theresa had earlier been gifted with a new convertible car from her father for her birthday and had been test driving it when she had been attacked by a large creature but saved by Hermes before it could cause any damage. In a similar story, Odie had been on his moped when he had been attacked by a large boar. Hermes arrived before the boar could do anything as he had used his staff to force the animal into submission.

Realizing that Cronus knows who they are and how to find them, Jay points out that they are still missing the final member to their team. Atlanta takes Theresa on a tour of the dorm, but the young girl is still having trouble believing everything is real and not an elaborate joke. As they head outside, Theresa asks Atlanta if she and Jay are dating.

Inside, Herry and Odie meet. They each express their thoughts about finding Cronus and the Typhus when they watch a news report going over details of blackouts and the elderly dam worker giving descriptions of the Typhus. Outside, the girls hear something nearby and attempt to attack but are easily defeated by Archie who claims he was merely performing a security check of the area. Just then, the power goes out which is revealed to be Cronus and his minions controlling the power from the dam.

The teens head back to the school that is still operating with their own power system. Ares equips the group with new weapons and how they can best beat the Typhus. Odie uses the new connections Hermes provided to pinpoint the location where Cronus and the Typhus must be. They gather together in Herry's truck, including Archie who decides to officially join the team.

They head to the dam and notice signs that other people may have encountered Typhus but appear to have escaped and sought shelter in the woods. Jay falls into the leadership role and assigns everyone a task to carry out. Odie provides PMR's/walkie talkies for them to stay in contact and the rest arm themselves with weapons. As they split up, Archie is struggling to accept Odie is like the rest of them although he is familiar with the friendship between their ancestors due to reading a lot of ancient poetry. Archie's beliefs are quickly changed when the Typhus appears before them.

Archie attempts fighting the beast but ends up thrown into a river. Jay warns Odie that Typhus is heading toward the dam. Odie, Herry, and Atlanta try to stay clear of the attacks, but Odie is knocked off the dam in the process. The remaining five regroup and begin making their way away from the dam. They notice that Typhus has stopped following them and figure it is because he is protecting something at the dam. Jay orders Herry to take them back to the dam so they can rescue Odie.

Odie has managed to get to land and calls the others to inform them of his status as well as seeing Cronus on a nearby ledge with a large laser nearby. The five decide to try to stop Cronus but Archie and Atlanta volunteer to stay behind to distract Typhus. While Jay, Theresa, and Herry make their way to where Cronus is, Archie informs Atlanta of a plan to stop Typhus similar to how Zeus previously defeated him.

Jay, Theresa, and Herry are able to handle the henchmen, but Cronus doesn't take them as seriously as he waits for a comet to draw closer to Earth. When it is close enough, Cronus fires the laser and destroys the comet. The result causes a shimmering ring to encircle the Earth. At the same time, the lasers use causes Typhus to receive a powerful electric shock due to Archie using his whip to snare the creature and tie it to a large power cable. Although Typhus is beaten and the laser is disabled, Cronus boasts that their efforts are too late.

Regrouping at the dorm, Theresa tries to assure Jay that they've won but Jay doesn't feel the fight is over since they don't know the reason for Cronus' actions and that they are still missing the seventh member of their team.

Mythology[]

  • Archie's "wonky heel" is almost entirely a reference to his ancestor Achilles' one vulnerable body part, which, when shot with a poisoned tip arrow by Paris in the Trojan War, got him killed.
